Heart Ablaze: Set a Fire

Jan 04, 2022

As we welcome the new year, Eric Jones brings us a new series at VFC: Heart Ablaze. In the first message of the series, Eric challenges us with 3 ways to grow our relationship with God. We journey through two stories in the Bible, each of which highlight our need to passionately pursue Jesus as we develop and strengthen our union with Him.

In Set a Fire, we first look at a story from the Gospel of Luke, following Jesus’s crucifixion, about two men whose hearts were ablaze in the presence of Jesus. Eric Jones sets the stage for the story, fills us in on the circumstances surrounding the scene, and highlights Luke 24:30-32

The Next 30 Years: The Exchange Zone

Dec 21, 2021

We are in the Exchange Zone?

On September 5, 2021, Valley Family Church celebrated its 30th Anniversary and on that day, Pastors Jeff and Beth recognized that VFC crossed the first line in The Exchange Zone!

Once both runners hit the mark in the exchange zone, the incoming runner slows down as the outgoing runner accelerates. When executed as planned, the rate the baton is traveling never slows.

What does that have to do with Valley Family Church? Fear not, dear friends! We’re sharing the details and getting you up to speed on what the next leg of...

be·hold

/bəˈhōld/

verb

  1. see or observe (a thing or person, especially a remarkable or impressive one).

When was the last time you said, “Behold!”? It’s not a word we use much any more. Today, we use expressions like, “Hey, look at that!” or “Wow!” Each of these phrases express the emotion surrounding a spectacular event.

The word “behold” perfectly describes the reaction we have in recognizing Jesus Christ, especially during the season of His birth. We see and observe a person, Jesus, who is especially remarkable and impressive. He is the most remarkable and impressive man to ever walk the face of the earth! Christmas is meant to be a “Wow Season” for all of us as we behold the Newborn King.

In VFC’s Christmas message, Pastor Jeff reminisces on Wow Seasons throughout his life including childhood memories from Christmas morning, a trip to New Zealand, and the wedding days of his daughters, to...
