There are all kinds of opportunities to get involved at VFC!

Whether you're looking for a place to serve and meet people on the weekends or during the week - we welcome you to join the volunteer army at VFC known as the VCrew!

This amazing group of people love the Lord, enjoy serving and like to have fun. Check out the Opportunities below:

Weekend Opportunities

Most volunteer opportunities are open to anyone who is a graduate of our "Get a Grip 101: Basics" class and a member of VFC. Below is a little more detail on the areas of ministry you can be involved in! Just complete the appropriate VCrew application, located on the left hand side of this page and bring it in to Info Center during the week or weekend services! Questions? audio tech

An audio technician operates the sound during weekend services. Must be available on Wednesday nights and possess a spirit of excellence. Experience is preferred, but we'll train eager rookies.

high school

Do you have a passion to connect with and reach out to High School students? Do you want to build relationships and pour into the lives of today's youth while having fun at the same time? If so, VOX HS is just the place for you!

grounds

Assist with lawn care, landscaping and snow removal for all buildings.

kidamazoo

Kids are the future and at VFC we believe in investing in their lives. Make a difference in a child's life - it's the best thing you can do.

lighting tech

A lighting technician operates the lights during services. Must be available during all weekend services once a month and possess a spirit of excellence. Creative or technical skills preferred, but not necessary.

media tech

There are several openings for the weekend Media Tech team including camera operators and ProPresenter. If techie things float your boat, then come aboard!

security

Provide overall security for the church on weekends and special events.

stage hand team

Help out with the weekend services behind the scenes. No experience required.

traffic

When guests arrive at VFC, they are warmly greeted by our Traffic Team who make their arrival and departure smooth.

usher

Serve on the front lines to meet, greet and seat our guests.

worship

We are always looking for people with a passion for worship and music. To be a part of the VFC worship department, please complete these four steps:

-Complete Get a Grip 101: Basics Graduate (18 or older only)

-Become a Member of VFC

-Complete Worship Team Application by clicking here.

-Send us an audio file with a sample of your instrumental playing skills or your vocal skills. (A YouTube or Vimeo link is acceptable, but please do NOT send a Facebook link. Email to worship@valleyfamilychurch.org or mail to VFC, ATTN: Worship Dept, 2500 Vincent Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49024.)

Weekday Opportunities

There are many weekday opportunities at VFC. In order to serve in these areas you must also serve on the weekend in some capacity. This helps to ensure that the weekend areas of ministry are adequately staffed. If this describes you, to get you started just email the area you are interested in volunteering to vcrew@valleyfamilychurch.org. Someone will be in contact with you!

bookstore and café

The Bookstore and Cafe need smiling faces to volunteer one day per week Monday-Thursday from 9am-1pm. All training will be provided.

general facilities/maintenance

Tasks range from setting up chairs for events to assisting with maintenance items such as painting, drywall, equipment assembly and everything in between!  If you're available to help in this area during the week, we would love to hear from you.

hospitality

All you need is a smiling face and a heart to serve. We provide food and hospitality needs for designated church events.

housekeeping

Tasks include general housekeeping such as vacuuming, windows washing, bathrooms and assisting with special events. If you're available to help in this area during the week, we would love to hear from you.

ministry of meals

People with hearts to serve are needed in the Ministry of Meals. If you have it in your heart to bless others through food, we are in need of people willing to prepare or purchase meals to be a blessing to others.

reception

This weekday position involves answering phones, general questions and providing event guidance for guests.

social media

If you consider yourself a Facebook and Twitter connoisseur, on the cutting-edge of social media and would like to help VFC get the word out about events and more in a fun and creative way, then join the team!

video production

Calling all people with a gift to produce musical scores for various videos. If you have at least one year of experience working with GarageBand, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Soundbooth or Logic Pro on a weekly basis and an ear for production music, a gift to write and produce scores then we need you. Commitment level is weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm. High School students are welcome to apply but need to have their own transportation.
