Matt Munson

Executive Director of Community Care

Matt Munson arrived on staff in September 2009 and serves as the Community Care Director. This includes the oversight of Pastoral Care, Family Care Center, Outreach Ministries, Groups and the Cathedral.

Matt entered the ministry field after having spent four years as a stay-at-home dad, which was preceded by a fifteen-year career as a successful collegiate and high school track and field coach.  In addition to coaching, Matt has also served as an educator at a variety of universities. 

Prior to his coaching career, Matt earned his B.A. in English at Bridgewater College (VA) and his M.S. in Kinesiology at James Madison University.

He is a graduate of VFC’s EPIC School of Ministry. He enjoys travel, college sports, and cherishes the time he has with his family.  Matt and his wife Colleen have two children, Jacob and Bryn.
