Are you wondering, "How do I join Valley Family Church and become a member of the VCrew family?" Actually, they are one and the same, just take the journey below to connect and become a member of the VCrew.

#1. Plug Into Something Greater: How do I connect?

"You can be committed to Church but not committed to Christ, but you cannot be committed to Christ and not committed to church."

-Joel Osteen

"There's no place like home. There's nothing like family. You belong here." is more than our motto. It's what we want everyone to experience. We want everyone to feel connected at VFC -- at their own pace. That's why we let you tell us what level of commitment you desire. We know that being a part of a church family is a progressive process that starts with being a Visitor, then a Friend and then a Family Member. We love everyone in each part of their journey.

We love our Visitors! At VFC, our Visitors are those who attend VFC a handful of times each year -- on special weekends or when they are in town. We welcome Visitors and encourage them to become Friends by attending regularly.

Friends are great! A Friend at VFC typically attends once or twice a month. We love having Friends at VFC, but we encourage Friends to take the next step to join the Family.

Family is just that -- family! You can count on Family  because they attend consistently -- twice a month or more. Not only does Family attend, they give to financially support the church and they regularly serve as a VCrew member.

What are the perks of being a VCrew family member?

#2. Experience 7 Great Perks: What are the benefits of being a VCrew Member?

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6

Joining the VFC Family and being a member of the VCrew entitles you to some great benefits! In the same way that Jesus ministered God's Word to the multitudes, He also poured into and honored His Twelve Disciples with perks. At VFC, we minister to the multitudes each week, while also pouring into and honoring our VCrew with these perks.

1. You Receive Spiritual Care

Everyone at VFC receives the spiritual care that comes from the weekend messages, kids and student ministries, small groups and more. As a Member of the VCrew, you will receive an additional layer of pastoral care to help you if and when you go through a difficult time. You will receive extra spiritual care and the opportunity to meet with a pastor or trained caring provider to receive wisdom and prayer regarding: life, marriage, family, vocation, recovery, doctrinal questions or other matters.

2. You Get to Attend Special Events

Everyone at VFC is welcome to participate in all of the public meetings and events we offer. Members of the VCrew get the added privilege of enjoying special events throughout the year including the bi-annual V'Oscars where we honor those who serve the Lord at VFC as well as special meetings with guest speakers, worship nights, leadership training or relationship building events that are not open to the public.

3. You Will Receive a Hospital Visit

Everyone at VFC will be prayed for by our prayer groups if they find themselves in the hospital. Because of their extra commitment, VCrew Members will receive a hospital visit from one of our pastors or trained leaders. We wish we could visit everyone in the hospital at all times, but we realize this is not humanly possible, that's why we promise to pray for everyone, but we make it a priority to visit VCrew Members who are in the hospital when they are facing a serious illness, major surgery or a hospital stay.

4. You Will Receive Funeral Support

Everyone at VFC is welcome to be a part of one of our grief recovery VGroups in the event of the loss of a loved one. As a VCrew Member, if you experience the loss of an immediate family member (spouse, child, parent) you will receive the extra benefit of having one of our pastors or trained leaders available to provide you with comfort, prayer and/or to assist with the funeral as desired.

5. You Receive Discounted Rates for Wedding Venue

Everyone at VFC can rent our wedding venues for their wedding when the dates are available. As a VCrew Member, you get first dibs on calendar dates and a discounted rate to use VFC facilities (The Cathedral or Tamarack Valley) for your ceremony or reception.

6. You Get to Enjoy the Ministry of Meals

Everyone at VFC who faces a time of difficulty will receive a card or note of encouragement. As a VCrew Member, you will receive several home-delivered meals when you have a baby,  an extended illness, major surgery or the death of an immediate family member.

7. You Get the Reward of Member Discounts

Everyone is welcome to register for the variety of events, programs, courses and camps we offer throughout the year. As a VCrew Member, because of your commitment to serve and financially support the church, you receive special discounts for many of the programs VFC hosts, including: Valley Kids Learning Center, Valley Leadership School, Conferences and Camp.

What are the responsibilities of being a VCrew family member?

#3. Do Great Things: 7 Responsibilities of VCrew Members

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Ephesians 4:16

VCrew Members love the 7 Perks and they embrace these 7 Responsibilities. If you'd like to join as a Member of the VCrew, take a moment to read and understand these responsibilities.

1. VCrew Members Participate

You may not know this, but your attendance during our weekend services and our small groups is vital! When you attend our weekend services, participate in worship, lean in to the messages, extend friendship to others and serve on the VCrew, you contribute to the God-ordained momentum of the service. Your participation matters. When you engage in the church divine connections and the God-ordained conversations happens and Jesus truly builds His Church. Members are active and enthusiastic participators!

2. VCrew Members Pray

Members pray for one another, for the church, those who attend, the staff and our Pastors. One of the best things you can do for another person is to pray -- and we are happy that VFC Members take prayer seriously by praying on their own and in our various prayer meetings.

3. VCrew Members Invite

They are "bringers" -- always inviting their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to attend VFC with them because they know that reaching people with the gospel is one of our greatest responsibilities.

4. VCrew Members Protect

Just like any family, VCrew Members protect the integrity, reputation and honor of those in your family. As a Member, you protect the reputation of VFC by living a life that honors God. You protect and defend the leadership and your brothers and sisters in Christ. You choose to speak blessings over your church and not allow a critical spirit, gossip or negativity to have any place in your thoughts or conversations.

5. VCrew Members Grow

They are committed to investing in themselves and in growing their own spiritual life and relationship with God. That means they are intentional about increasing in their knowledge of God's Word through reading the Bible, taking online courses in the Valley University and accessing other opportunities to grow and develop. 6. VCrew Members Give

VCrew Members have a generous spirit and enjoy giving their time, joy, energy as well as their financial gifts to further the church and to help others.  It’s not what you have that matters -- it’s what you do with what you have.

"If you summarize the Bible in the simplest sentence possible, it could be 'God gives.' He gave His Son. Jesus gave His life. We are made in His image to be givers ... We just have to learn to do it."

Robert Morris, Pastor, Gateway Church

VCrew Members practice tithing as the Biblical baseline for giving. God underwrites His church through the tithes of its Members. (Members recognize that giving 10% of their income is the Biblical standard for tithing and any thing over 10% is considered to be an offering to build the church or an alm to help the poor.

VCrew Members believe giving draws us closer to God, is the antidote to materialism, strengthens our faith, is an investment in eternity, blesses us in return, and giving makes us happy! There is no better way to enjoy abundant living than by generous giving. As givers, VCrew Members position themselves to experience God's goodness by seeking first His kingdom through their giving and letting God know they trust Him with one of the most significant parts of their lives -- their money. (Our church believes in this so much, we're willing to offer VCrew Members a "money-back guarantee" if they are new to giving and willing to trust God by taking the 3-Month Tithe Challenge.)

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse ... If you do,” says the lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Malachi 3:10 NLT

7. VCrew Members Serve

It goes without saying, but by definition, VCrew Members serve. They know it takes hundreds of servant-hearted people to minister to the thousands of people who attend VFC.  VCrew Members serve everywhere: kids and students ministry, worship, traffic, ushers, security, info center, housekeeping, facilities, audio, lighting, video, small groups, cafe and a whole lot more!

Let us help you discover your God-given design and unique gifts to find the best serving role for you. There is nothing like discovering your God-given purpose and using your gifts to expand His kingdom and grow His church. Are you gifted with leadership? Organizational skills? Musical talent? Tech or creative arts? Do you love people? Conversation? Serving others? Do you have speaking gifts? Would you like to be out front or behind the scenes? When you identify your gifts, we'll be able to help you find the fulfillment that comes from being in the perfect serving role on the VCrew. Take a few minutes to complete the Personality Assessment and find out how the Lord has wired you to serve.
