Child Care Director - Valley Kids Learning Center

Valley Kids Learning Center is a faith-based, family-oriented child care center serving children from ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. We are dedicated to providing children with a safe, nurturing and loving environment.

We are currently seeking a full time State of Michigan credentialed child care director. The director will oversee the operation of the child care center, including supervising and training staff, working with the board of directors with budgeting, complying with state child care regulations, and ensuring the center is a safe, healthy, and loving environment that reflects Christian values and beliefs. As this is a ministry position, we are seeking a candidate whose values and priorities align with that of Valley Family Church without reservation.

The child care director will work collaboratively with the Executive Pastor of Family Ministries, other ministry department directors, center staff, students and their parents. Salary is commensurate with experience and education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education/development or equivalent as required by the State of Michigan
  • Experience directing or managing childcare, including supervising and training staff, managing billing, budgeting, and maintaining compliance with state regulations
  • Certification in both CPR/First Aid
  • Able to pass current background check
  • Ability to accept and embrace all children

Duties:

  • Administer day-to-day operations of the learning center in accordance with the laws in the State of Michigan and the by-laws and policies adopted and approved by Valley Family Church. The Director should possess knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding safety requirements, inspections, certification procedures, and ensure that the center complies with all requirements
  • Work with qualified center staff to implement age-appropriate curriculum while maintaining an educational environment that ensures educational benchmarks are met
  • Supervise staff of teachers and aides by providing staff orientation and training, directing staff to follow curriculum and state licensing regulations, and promoting a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for children
  • Plan and facilitate annual professional development for all employees as required by the state
  • Manage enrollment, give tours to prospective parents, and communicate preschool policies and procedures to students and parents
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve conflicts in a tactful and positive manner
  • Communicate regularly with other department directors and the Executive Pastor
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor

The Basics With Beth Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Full-time)

The Basics With Beth Marketing & Communications Coordinator will help strategically market and communicate products, resources, events, opportunities and more to a variety of audiences -- and create content (written, graphic design, photography, etc.) to help people get the basics of God’s Word and live a life they love.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Execute The Basics With Beth social media strategy by creating content, posting daily and responding to audience engagement
  • Execute The Basics With Beth email marketing strategy by writing, designing and distributing email communications to various audiences
  • Create/select/design photos and graphics for social media, email marketing, website, The Basics University courses and more
  • Post The Basics With Beth podcast weekly to distribution platforms
  • Learn the backend of TheBasicsWithBeth.com and TheBasicsUniversity.com websites and assist with basic content updates
  • Organize and manage testimonials, headshots, logos and other communication files/brand elements
  • Assist with donor relations strategy
  • Assist in creative planning/brainstorming for marketing strategy, promotions, materials and campaigns
  • Assist in regular content distribution to partner organizations
  • Recruit, develop and oversee volunteers

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Edit & package The Basics With Beth TV episodes
  • Create other video elements including lessons for The Basics University, product promos, social media clips, testimonials, commercials, etc.
  • Assist with production on TV & video shoots
  • Facilitate & edit podcast recordings
  • Create media, photos, and/or graphics for social media, email marketing and website
  • Assist in creative planning/brainstorming for new media elements, set designs, promotions and marketing materials/efforts

The Basics With Beth Support Assistant (Part-time)

The Basics With Beth Support Assistant will support the administrative needs of The Basics With Beth department to help people get the basics of God’s Word and live a life they love.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide strong communications support as directed
  • Assist with customer service support for all BWB product and resource inquiries
  • Assist in the updating of department flow charts, SOPs, handbooks, proposals and more
  • Assist in updating weekly, monthly and quarterly department reports
  • Research products, events, vendors, supplies, suppliers and more
  • Manage product (book) inventory, fulfillment and shipping
  • Process all expense invoices, receipts and credit card payment submissions
  • Facilitate mailings (donor relations, new book promotions, etc.)
  • Provide support related to volunteer scheduling, training and management as directed
  • Assist with the planning and execution of volunteer and staff appreciation and care
  • Other duties as assigned
